Urban - Fun with Stencils

The original print project Urban was based around involved cutting stencils made from photographs printed on an A3 piece of paper which turned out to be pretty hellish as the stencils were only good for a few prints and even then due to the content of my photographs there were a lot of fiddly pieces to cut.

Industrial Evolution - Final Samples

These were the final samples which I done over 2 or 3 days before the hand in and they were finished 5 minutes before the deadline. Pretty impressive eh?

Industrial Evolution - Development

For Sampling for this project I really struggled to come up with good samples and my initial samples were rubbish.

As a result the majority of the sampling in this project was done on the week that it was to be handed in. This meant I was working right up to the deadline to get it done in time.

Urban - Photography

Urban actually started as a one day print project based on photography around Glasgow and spiralled into being our final project for the course. These are the pictures I took from which I took my inspiration for my final two dresses. I also ran most of the PR for the fashion show which we put on including making posters, social media, making programmes. I also ran the show blog so if you want to take a peek at what our show was like here is the page url: http://glasgowclydetextiles14.blogspot.co.uk/

Industrial Evolution - Drawings

Industrial Evolution was just one of three projects which we could choose from a selection of three.

Future Folk and Stripe and Type were the other projects which I could have chosen. Most of the class also went with Industrial Evolution which I only discovered when I arrived with an old broken laptop and realised that almost the whole class had broken computer bits.

Starting with creating backgrounds for collaging we looked at drawing the objects we brought in.

We had experimental drawing days where we had to use different techniques of drawing including drawing with your mouth and drawing with tape. We also experimented with pop up and origami.

I found it hard to find the detail in my objects using these experimental drawings.
